Arrival in the railroad country of Bavaria

Travel comfortably from Eichstätt, Ingolstadt or Augsburg with the Bavarian Regional train to the Ammer-Amper bike path. The Ammergau Alps Nature Park can be easily reached by train via Munich. In Murnau you take the regional train to Oberammergau. For bicycle transportation you can choose between three tickets. Chargeable are all bicycles with more than 20 inch tire size. Depending on how long and where you want to go, you can choose from these two ticket options:

The Bike Day ticket Bavaria

For €6.00 you can take your bike with you for a whole day on regional trains in Bavaria. In the MVV and VGN regions, the card is also valid in the authorized subways and buses.

The bicycle shortcut ticket

It is valid for a one-way trip up to a distance of 50 kilometers or for the round trip up to a distance of 20 kilometers each way. The price depends on the length of the desired route and corresponds to the price of a children’s ticket.

Advice:

Some connections are particularly popular with passengers. Especially on sunny days, there may be bottlenecks on the trains from Augsburg in the direction of Ammersee between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. and on the return trip between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.. We therefore recommend switching to later connections. In case of increased passenger traffic, you can also comfortably cycle to the next station to catch the next train. Therefore, buy your bike ticket and your personal ticket only on the train – if the train is then overcrowded, you can still easily and quickly switch to alternatives.
